(So... Let's Be Friends!)
Readers and Friends,
Did you know that February 11th is National Make-a-Friend Day? No? Me neither, up until the day before. (FYI, it is also Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day... somehow). I figured I would reach out and introduce myself, beyond my role as the author of STORMSEND - Saga of the Freewilds, Book One. I'll also share some ways to keep in touch with me at the bottom of this page, just in case anyone wants to chat sometime. My name, as you know, is Michael Paul Scott. I went with the full name for publishing purposes because there is already a famous author named Michael Scott and I didn't really want to use a pen name. I am 44 years old and live in a little town called Gardiner in upstate New York, about 90 miles north of NYC. I am married (20 years this May) to a wonderful, beautiful woman named Christine. I work for the local electric utility and enjoy reading, drawing, writing (obviously), watching movies and binging TV shows, and playing video games and tabletop roleplaying games.
We also have a dog named Scrappy. He is a dachshund-terrier mix and he DEFINITELY lives up to his name! Here's a picture and a link to his Facebook Page :)
I am really excited to have the opportunity to begin this new career as an independently published author. I hope that you will consider reading my books, of course, but even if not, I would still like to count you as a friend. Just by visiting my website, by receiving this e-mail or reading my blog post, you have been a part of the happiest period of time in my life.
I set out to write as a form of catharsis. It was part of my therapy and critical to my efforts to recover from Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD. I am still on that journey, readers and friends... I still struggle, sometimes... but it is because of good people like you, and the support and encouragement you all provide, that I can honestly say that I have faith in brighter days, ahead.
